Lactose intolerance, gluten intolerance or any other special dietary requirements does not automatically mean that you have to sacrifice enjoyment - quite the opposite! Simply inform the DAS GERSTL Unique team at reception on or prior to your arrival and the DAS GERSTL kitchen will do its best to cater for your needs.

The majority of our r30 partners are producers of animal products. Yet DAS GERSTL Family Retreat still endeavours to use local, healthy and naturally delicious alternatives wherever possible.

You won't find such treasures as easy! DAS GERSTL Family Retreat in Resia/Reschen can be easily reached from the north via the Passo Resia and from the south via Bolzano, Merano, Malles and passing San Valentino alla Muta and Curon Venosta. 

If you are travelling by public transport, we will pick you up free of charge at the bus stop in the village of Resia on the day of arrival and bring you back there on the day of departure.

The location's two-fold bonus: Lake Resia right in front of your nose and the Schöneben skiing and hiking resort right on your doorstep!

DAS GERSTL Family Retreat can also organise a stress-free shuttle service from the airports of Bolzano and Innsbruck for a fee on request.

CHECK-IN: after 03:00 pm

Let us spoil you with breakfast on your day of arrival (15.00 € for children aged 3-15 and 30.00€ for adults aged 16 and over) and then enjoy the wellness area until your suite is ready for you to move into (for an additional 40.00 € per family).

CHECK-OUT: on the day of departure, we ask you to vacate your room/suite by 10:00 am. You are welcome to use our water world and the Adults Only Area free of charge until 02:00 pm. If you would like to stay longer, there is a charge of 80.00 € per family (without room) and 190.00 € per family inclusing dinner.

50 hours of adventure, excitement and learning - every week we offer a slightly different programme with unique events for kids and teens. In and with nature, and with lots of fun on top. Depending on the holiday period and programme, the kids from the different clubs also experience the activities together.

The youngest members of the family are well catered for at DAS GERSTL Family Retreat:

• With the “ALL GOOD” package for the little ones, you are well catered for:
  prams and buggies, bibs, cots, potties, baby carriers, night lights, cribs, anti-fall protection for the bed, changing mats and nappy bins.
   
• In the restaurant: highchairs, children's stools, bibs, colouring sets, baby glasses/cutlery as well as plenty more for the youngest of connoisseurs.

The bike station features a large family locker per room/suite and a boot dryer. Anyone wishing to do so is free to bring their bikes from home and store them here. The same goes for the ski room in winter.

At DAS GERSTL Family Retreat you can easily hire various bikes for a small fee. We stock the brands SPECIALIZED, WOOM and THULE.

What if everything suddenly changes and you can’t go on holiday as planned? It is always unpleasant to have to cancel - for you as well as for us. We kindly ask for your understanding. Room cancellations shall only be accepted in writing.

• Cancellation up to 21 days prior to arrival:
  Free of charge; deposits will be refunded or recognised as credit
• Rebookings outside the free cancellation period: 
  50% of the total amount of your stay will be charged
• Cancellation within 21 days prior to arrival: 
  80% of the total amount of your stay will be charged
• Late arrival or early departure: 
  Breakfast and/or dinner for the nights of your stay that are not used will be deducted from the total amount
• Cancellation for a group of 3 rooms or more: 
  Free of charge up to 40 days prior to arrival | within 40 days prior to arrival, 80% of the luxury board price will be charged

Simply take a break from everyday life together for a whole day.

Family members of the four-legged variety are welcome to stay in the suites on the first floor for a surcharge of 40,00 € per day. Out of consideration for other guests, however, they are not permitted in the restaurant, by the pools, in the play areas, in the sauna & wellness area or in the garden. Guests wishing to bring their four-legged friends to dinner are free to reserve a table in the bar area.

Sports enthusiasts can burn off energy with the activity programme supervised by a professional trainer. Anyone preferring to do their workout alone can use the well-equipped gym for ages 16 and over with the latest gym equipment made of wood from the brands Waterrower / Nohrd.

DAS GERSTL Family Retreat places great emphasis on active experiences in and with nature. This is why the hotel not only offers indoor activities but also plenty to explore outside - a toddlers' playground, all-terrain slide and pedal go-karts - and of course sunshine galore.

Includes free travel on the Venosta Valley railway and other public transport, as well as great discounts with various partners and service providers in the region. You will receive the Lake Resia Guest Pass on arrival at the reception or in advance by email.

Fun and adventure are always guaranteed in the Lake Resia Holiday Area, both in summer and winter. Visitors can enjoy hiking, cycling, sailing, skiing, tobogganing and cross-country skiing - to name just a few of the activities on offer. Beverages at the juice bar and coffee station are for 24 hours a day also included , while all other drinks shall be charged to the room.
Any early birds are welcome to enjoy the breakfast at the gourmet corner on the day of arrival for a surcharge of 30,00 € per adults from 16 years and for 15,00 € per child from 3-15 years.

Our partner hotel - DAS GERSTL Alpine Retreat - is 20 km away from the family hotel and the perfect retreat for those seeking peace and quiet to recharge their batteries. 

In our wellness area with more than 500 m² sauna world, 400 m² water world with 17 m long infinity pool and 18 m long outdoor pool you can enjoy relaxing and restorative hours. Sunbathe in the spacious garden landscape and enjoy the soothing warmth in our sauna area. You can also enjoy a wide range of soothing massages and body and beauty treatments.

As active hotel and indoor & outdoor sport enthusiasts, we would be happy to advise you professionally when it comes to snowshoeing, skiing, sledging or country-cross skiing in winter as well as hiking, mountain biking or archery in summer.

Guests can settle their bookings with Visa, Mastercard, Eurocard or in cash (pursuant to Italian law up to a maximum of 2,999 €). The easiest way is to just make a bank transfer of the total amount in advance.

Regional, fresh, delicious. All fresh ingredients are sourced from within a maximum radius of 30 kilometres as far as possible and are prepared without any additives by the GERSTL chefs. From our own Wagyu beef and local honey at the breakfast buffet to Italian specialities, juices and wines - this is how good sustainability can taste.

Sustainability is our joint responsibility  - which is why guests have the possibility of doing without room cleaning and towel changes at any time, conveniently via the hotel app, at reception or directly with the GERSTL room cleaners.

We will donate 2,00 € for every room cleaning service cancelled to a South Tyrolean research project that fights bark beetles and promotes healthy forests.

Turndown service

we take loving care of preparing your bed for a restful night every day from 18:00 to 20:00. This service can also be conveniently booked via the hotel app or in person at reception.

Your room card not only gives you access to your room and suite, but also to the water worlds, the sauna area and the underground car parking entrances to the hotel. Inserting the room card in the holder provided right next to the door will activate the electricity in the room.

Getting a good night's sleep is half the battle for a successful holiday.
The most of the 66 individual family suites and studios, dispose of a magnific view overlooking Lake Resia. From the 2nd floor the rooms are built using sustainable timber construction methods by the company Holzius and featuring wooden floors made from local woods, decking tiles made from plima granite, bathrooms designed by the Italian company Frattini and bathroom tiles by Fuchs. All tradespeople involved in the construction and furnishing are from the R30 radius insofar as possible. The furniture was developed in collaboration with the Schenk bed company in Malles/Mals and carpenters from the region using natural, sustainable and regional materials.

The sun-drenched family ski resort Belpiano-Malga San Valentino, lying at an altitude of 1,450 to 2,390 metres above sea level, boasts fifteen lifts, 65 kilometres of pistes with plenty of variety and the longest descent in the Vinschgau Valley. The ski bus takes you directly from the hotel to the ski area 600 metres away every day.

Everybody will find their favourite place in GERSTI'S Water World!
Water lovers of all ages can swim in the pool complex and engage in water battles at the Aqua Fun Park, whizz down the 76-m-long water slide and wave slide or enjoy their first experiences together as a family in the baby pool (30-40 cm deep) and the family sauna. You can then unwind in the relaxation oases and loungers within the sunny outdoor garden area.
